Associate Professor of Biostatistics
University of Washington
I work on machine learning (including penalized regression and classification), efficient algorithms in high dimensional spaces, shrinkage estimation and clinical trial design. The techniques I develop are directed at problems in biology and medical science (though they are often more widely applicable).
In addition, I am interested in building and applying tools to better understand the interplay of biomolecular and imaging-based measurements with diseases and treatments.
