15th Annual Summer Institute in Statistics and Modeling in Infectious Diseases (SISMID)

About

The Summer Institute in Statistics and Modeling in Infectious Diseases (SISMID) is designed to introduce infectious disease researchers to modern methods of statistical analysis and mathematical modeling and to introduce statisticians and mathematical modelers to the statistical and dynamic problems posed by modern infectious disease data. M. Elizabeth Halloran serves as the Director of SISMID. One of the goals of SISMID is to strengthen the statistical proficiency as applied to infectious diseases and career preparation of scholars from all backgrounds, especially those from groups historically underrepresented in STEM such as racial and ethnic minority groups, low income, first generation college students, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and 2SLGBTQ groups.

SISMID is partially supported by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases of the National Institutes of Health under Award Number R25 AI147391.

Sessions will be held in person July 10-26, 2023, at the University of Washington
